SMC Appoints a new Accompanist
Reika Suzuki-Macklin has been appointed Accompanist to the Sydney Male Choir from June 2024.
She completed her high school studies at the Sydney Conservatorium High School in 2020, attaining her LMusA in 2019 for piano under the tutelage of Phillip Shovk, and learned violin under the guidance of Nadia Monastrysky.
She is currently undertaking tertiary studies at the University of NSW where she is completing undergraduate degrees in both Science (Psychology) and Music.
A wonderfully talented and versatile musician, Reika has accompanied choirs (including UNSW choir), and regularly works alongside soloists and instrumental musicians in a variety of settings such as recitals, examinations, Eisteddfods and competitions.
Reika also has a passion for tango music, working with TangoOz and Adelante as a pianist. She has conducted orchestras, strings and band ensembles and is a popular and sought after piano teacher.
The Choir is delighted that Reika has joined SMC. We look forward to her contribution to the ongoing musical journey of the Sydney Male Choir.
